On Tues 3/6, we spent most of the day traveling to Vietnam, flying from Singapore to Ho Chi Minh City - the main district is still called Saigon by everyone. Our first impression in the cab from the airport was all the motorcycle traffic.
My reaction is mirrored in the poster on the pole on the right...
Feeling better after a supper of Pho (rice noodle soup) with a group of Gerald & Vicki's friends.
The famous Rex Hotel (*not* where we stayed) - where journalists during the war hung out and posted their stories.
Originally the Hotel de ville, French colonial architecture (built 1902-1908), now City Hall (People's Committee Building).
